Top-level changes at Helvetic Airways

Helvetic Airways has made changes in its management at the start of 2023. With effect from 16 January, the management team has been expanded from two to three members, and now consists of the CEO, the COO Flight Operations and the COO Part 145 (Maintenance). Nicolas Bachmann has been appointed COO Flight Operations, while former COO Simon Schatzmann has taken up a new staff function within Business Development.

Helvetic Airways has made changes to the structure and the composition of its management with effect from 16 January. The management team now consists of CEO Tobias Pogorevc, the COO Flight Operations and the COO Part 145 (Maintenance).

Nicolas Bachmann has been appointed COO Flight Operations. With 16 years of Helvetic Airways service, he can draw on a wealth of varied experience within the company in his new capacity, be it as a commander or through the numerous further functions he has held, most recently as Nominated Person Training and Deputy Accountable Manager Flight Operations. Nicolas Bachmann succeeds Simon Schatzmann, who held the position of COO/Accountable Manager Flight Operations for the past eight years and now takes on new duties within Business Development.

The third member of the newly expanded Helvetic Airways management team is René Mamet, who will continue to serve in his existing capacity as COO Part 145. With more than 20 years of previous experience in aircraft maintenance, René Mamet joined Helvetic as Head of Maintenance in mid-2020, assuming overall responsibility for all maintenance activities within the company’s own Zurich hangar.

“I am convinced that Nicolas Bachmann and René Mamet will be instrumental in helping us promptly identify and effectively meet and master the challenges we have ahead,” says CEO Tobias Pogorevc. “And I wish them both every success and satisfaction in their new capacities.”

With effect from 16 January 2023 Helvetic Airways Management now comprises:

  • Tobias Pogorevc, Chief Executive Officer
  • Nicolas Bachmann, Chief Operating Officer & Accountable Manager Flight Operations
  • René Mamet, Chief Operating Officer & Accountable Manager Part 145
